When I heard the request to make Cards of Hope for Phil’s Friends, I grabbed a huge stack to take home. I figured the kids would have fun coloring the pages. What I didn’t anticipate is that those cards would be a way for us to connect with two new sets of neighbors on the street.
One rainy afternoon when I had six kids complaining of boredom, I pulled out the cards and witnessed the kids laughing and coloring. They were exposed to the Bible verses on the cards, as well as what it looks like to love your neighbor as yourself through words of encouragement. Nearly every time Claire comes to my house, she asks if we can color more cards for the kids who are sick.
