I am a fiercely independent person. I had knee replacement and knew I wouldn't be able to drive for several weeks especially since it was my right knee. I have experienced God's love through family, friends and my LIFE Group. I've been in the same LIFE Group for several years. I knew my family and co-workers could not take me to MD appointments or physical therapy. So, it took a lot for me to ask my LIFE Group members for rides which were 3x a week. My LIFE Group stepped up big time taking me to all these appointments. It was very humbling to be the one accepting help.

The biggest bonus has been the one-on-one time we had to and from these appointments. It gave me sweet time with them to get to know them on a different level. At physical therapy, my therapist would ask me who my driver was that day and she became well aware of the dear friends in my LIFE Group that were my drivers. It has allowed my physical therapist and I to talk more openly about God. She even said she tried The Orchard a couple times but they live in Lombard. Now I'm driving myself and miss that sweet time we have had but I now feel our time together in our LIFE Group is sweeter and deeper.
