We started coming to The Orchard Marengo in March 2021 after a few years of attending and serving at a very large church. We desired to be part of a church that placed great importance on preaching that is deeply rooted in the Word of God, and would serve as our church family - not only on Sunday, but within our immediate community as well.

Coming to The Orchard Marengo was a huge change for our family in terms of size and structure of a Sunday service, but it has blessed our family immensely! The community here immediately welcomed us to jump right into service opportunities that highlighted the gifts God has given us. Serving and the fellowship opportunities that came with it has helped us build relationships with members of this church body.

Throughout the Old and New Testaments, God teaches us that fellowship between believers is central to furthering His Kingdom. Fellowship allows believers to build each other up, hold one another accountable according to God’s Word, and share in the blessings given to us by our God. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”

This year, our family has been overwhelmed with how genuine this church community is and the desire to do life together as believers in the one true God. At the beginning of 2021, many of us felt isolated and that the little bit of community we had, had been lost - but God, our provider, went above and beyond!
