Awana Vernon Hills
The Orchard Vernon Hills added Awana this year; for our first year we already have 50 clubbers attending, hearing the Gospel, and memorizing Scripture each week!
One of our clubbers who does not attend our church started out with some struggles - he felt very insecure about his disability and was so frustrated at the idea of memorizing Scripture that he wanted to just give up. Through the care and help of his small group leader, who writes his verses in larger print for him to read, this clubber now feels much more secure and confident in memorizing Scripture and attending club! He also now volunteers to help lead the Awana Pledge during large group. His demeanor has visibly changed, as he is learning that the adults around him care about him and want to help him learn God’s Word.
