Awana Volunteers (Barrington)

Make a difference in a child’s life on 28 Tuesdays starting September 6, 2022! No preparation is required, just be ready to facilitate your group, sing songs, play games, and listen to memorized scripture!

Requirements:

Please fill out the volunteer registration form below and our Awana Ministry Director will be contacting you shortly. A t-shirt will be provided for new volunteers their first year and for returning volunteers every other year (if needed). Leaders who need a shirt at a shorter interval or want a shirt other than a t-shirt will need to purchase one.

Descriptions of needs:

Cubbies Adult Leader
Lead and encourage a small group of three-and-four-year-olds to reinforce the Bible teaching presented each club night, light administration (sign for recited Bible verses, take attendance, pass out patches earned, etc.), participate in large group and game time activities.  Time commitment is under two hours on Tuesdays with holidays and spring break off.

Sparks Adult Leader
Lead and encourage a small group of K-2nd graders to learn the major concepts, facts, and applications of their handbook. Keep contact outside of club with clubbers and parents; follow up on absentees and visitors. Assist with large group and game time. Time commitment is two hours on Tuesdays and possibly a special event or two during the year, with holidays and spring break off.

T&T Girls Adult Leader
Lead and encourage a small group of 3rd-5th grade girls to learn the major concepts, facts, and applications of their handbook. Keep contact outside of club with clubbers and parents; follow up on absentees and visitors. Assist with large group and game time. Time commitment is two hours on Tuesdays and possibly a special event or two during the year, with holidays and spring break off.

T&T Boys Adult Leader
Lead and encourage a small group of 3rd-5th grade boys to learn the major concepts, facts, and applications of their handbook. Keep contact outside of club with clubbers and parents; follow up on absentees and visitors. Assist with large group and game time. Time commitment is two hours on Tuesdays and possibly a special event or two during the year, with holidays and spring break off.

Substitutes
Serve as a substitute as needed when regular leaders are unavailable.

Junior Leaders
A Junior Leader will assist the adult leader in each of the described activities.  The Junior Leader must be in 6th grade or higher to serve with the Cubbies or Sparks, and 7th grade or higher to serve in the T&T clubs.
