Missions Prayer Teams

This group faithfully prays for our missionaries and receives urgent prayer requests via email as they hear about them. If interested in joining, contact Joy Goreham, 847.577.4374.

Missionary Care Team/Missionary Advocates

Throughout the year, there are teams of people who, as individuals and as a group, come alongside specific missionaries by praying for them and helping to meet their special needs. If interested in joining a care team, please contact Judy Gruber, 847.459.3735.

Christian Advocacy Group

“Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” (Hebrews 13:3)

Meets the last Sunday of each month, 6-8 pm in the parlor at the Arlington Heights Campus. We pray and write letters on behalf of the persecuted church and those suffering human rights abuses around the world. This is a “drop-in” style ministry, so people can participate whenever they are able. No special knowledge is needed as the information is provided, as are template letters which can be adapted or copied verbatim. For more information, contact Juliet Skuldt, 847-749-2587, or Stephanie Bucataru, 847-398-8404. See our brochure for more information.

  • Sunday, Mar. 14, 6 pm Annual Easter Card Party, Fellowship Hall, Arlington Heights Campus.

Child’s Sponsorhip

The Orchard has two sponsorship programs for needy children in our world:

  • Hope for Kidz-Haiti is a child sponsorship program of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church at our Sister Church in Astruc, Haiti. The Astruc Church has a school in which there are 215 students, many of whom cannot afford to attend and thus need sponsors. For $250 annually, you can sponsor a child. Sponsorships are one year at a time, voluntarily renewed each year. If you would like more information, please contact Amy Wilson, 847.401.7225.
  • GlobalFingerprints-Congo is an orphan sponsorship program of the Evangelical Free Church of America for Congolese children. Almost 15% of children in Congo are orphans, due to tragedies such as AIDS, poverty, war, and lack of medical care. Through GlobalFingerprints, these orphans can attend school, receive medical care, and live with their extended family or with another loving family in their area. Visit the GlobalFingerprints website to sponsor a child.
