Our Community Supporter

I was born in Korea right before the Korean War. I came to America with a two-year-old daughter in 1981 during my fourth year of marriage. Today I have two daughters, one son, and a godly wife. I’ve been worshipping at The Orchard for three and a half years now and am part of the choir, lead a LIFE group, and serve in the Multi-Cultural Ministry.

By joining the youth group of Holiness Church in my hometown, I converted from Catholicism to Protestantism. But, I struggled for eleven long years between the Bible and academic achievements. Finally, at the age of 24, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior. Serving over two decades in Presbyterian churches of Korean immigrants, I’ve noticed, unexpectedly, a great number of Korean-American high school and college students leave the Church. And I mean leave the Church for good. There are many things that may cause this phenomenon, but I found the “collision of the language-culture” between generations is the major stumbling block that prevents them from growing in faith.

To provide a small stepping stone for those who are struggling inside this said collision, we have made a webpage available of Pastor Colin’s sermons translated into Korean. We desire that parents of Korean youth have the opportunity to read Pastor Colin’s sermons both in English and Korean with their children to foster (1) better communication; (2) a gospel-centered family; and (3) regeneration of Korean youth.
